PBL Jordanlee

For the rest of the term, my year group has been given a task to have a positive impact on our community. My group consists of four people including myself, Juanita, Jessania and Michaela. The issue we have chosen is about senior citizenship. Websites like https://www.ageconcern.org.nz/ACNZ_Public/Loneliness_and_Social_Isolation_Research.aspx, http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/76229784/One-in-10-elderly-Kiwis-could-be-socially-isolated-Age-Concern-says and https://www.agingcare.com/articles/loneliness-in-the-elderly-151549.htm state that some elderly are left alone with no families and are 'isolated'. We have an idea to fundraise money for them and are still figuring out what we should do with it.

Steps needed to achieve the goal.
What will help us achieve this goal?(Enablers)
Possible barriers and how they could be overcome.
Who is responsible for this step?
Date this step will be achieved by.
  • Ask at work
  • COllect Information
  • Work out what to do
-michaela  and I Can ask at work about the elderly we can reach out to, because they deliver and will be able to get information and help.
  • They don’t have any people or information to give us
  • The elderly people don’t want help
  • MichaeLa
  • Jess
By the end of this week

Steps needed to achieve the goal.

Possible barriers and how they could be overcome.
Who is responsible for this step?
Date this step will be achieved by.
  • Getting food donations or support from local food businesses such as pak'nsave, couplands and countdown
Jordanlee calling or emailing them so that we won’t have to bake and the food is good, and so that we don’t have to fundraise, this is an easier and better option
  • No one wants to donate or sponsor
  • We don’t get food or money to bake

Rest Home Visit 2: The following week on Tuesday, we went back again. This time to give some baking. The previous day, Michaela and Jess went home and baked some chocolate chip muffins, and banana muffins, specifically for the diabetic ones in the rest home. We gave out our muffins and they seemed to enjoy it. We have decided to return one more time, to maybe give a big proformence of kapa haka and give them Christmas cards so they can feel loved during the chrismas time.

Jordanlee's Persuasive essay 10ck

Persuasive essay
The tuckshop should be cheaper, because not every kid can afford to buy there own food when they're hungry, sometimes some families are poor and can't fork out any money for their kids to eat lunches during the day, even if parents work as hard as they can the could not afford to feed their kids.
when your parents were raising you most of the time they would be struggling to feed themselves along with feeding you,
so why not just make the tuckshop food cheaper so people don't starve during class and so they can focus on learning not eating, make learning more fun and enjoyable for them,
and that's why tuckshop food should really be cheaper

if the tuckshop had cheaper food at lunchtimes they would also sell out fast because some people could afford to buy more stuff because it’s cheaps,
that also means that poor people could buy more food for themselves too and could actually eat a good lunch to keep them educated
this would also mean the school would be making more money off the food and again, students will be fall and ready for learning just like the other students.
and that's why if tuckshop food was cheaper people would buy more.

Motorsport racing does add a value to society, in fact in my point of view it gains people's driving ability on the normal roads and how to react to your car or another drive on the road, if you were driving down the road and all of a sudden your car skids out in the corner you will have that quick reaction to stop you and your passengers from being in a lifetime situation

Also it may gain your confidence on drive with others on the road and be sticking to the road rules, and again if you were in a bad situation, maybe if someone were to lose control of their car in front of you, you would have the confidence to not freak out and move off the road as soon as possible

Imagine if you all of a sudden had to be in a rush somewhere and it was a wet day, your car starts to skid out, what do you do, react to it counter steer and keep driving along safely

yes sometimes people take advantage of the road and use it as a race track but they will have to be harder on them, and plus if you're a safe driver you'll avoid them

CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is definitely
Not a made up story by hippies, a lot of scientists have proven it in their studies, according too https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization.

Even though you cant see things happening there happening faster than you think they are, such as all the storms and hurricanes the world has had recently…..

RACING IN NELSON

Have you ever had that rush feeling ?? I have. one day my uncle asked me if i wanted to go and race in the “Ministock mania” champs in nelson, and of course i said yes, so the week before we left we got my car already tuned and race ready loaded on the trailer, the whole week i was really nervous until the day came, 4:30 on Saturday morning we headed to nelson, the whole way there i feel asleep in the back seat dreaming about winning, the time came, we were at the track, my uncles mate Noel came to crew for terry who is the guy that my uncle is towing around for the season, noel sponsored me some new 185 sized tires for that weekend, so after we got the car off the trailer we headed down the road and got those tires fitted, later after that we got back to the track and put the wheels back on the car, i slowly let the jack down yelling out “going down” so nobody was under there, soonly enough the night was coming to a start,

My nerves we're now getting bigger and bigger, wondering am i going to make it, i hear on the radio “can all youth mini stock drivers come to the club rooms please” and all i could feel is the sweat pour slowly down my back, i walked over to the club rooms with some of the boys and girls, i could see the nerve on their faces too, we got to the club rooms and the officials had a talk to us about how the nights going to run, then the done a marble draw to get our grids for the first race, i got lucky and pulled off grind number 3 , we all walked back to our cars and i ran over to uncle and told him what was happening, he was nervous for me because there was more cars then what I've ever raced with there, all he wanted is for me to go out there and just have fun.

the night was getting faster and the first heat came up, there was four heats and i was in the last three races, the first heat came up and i went up and watched it to see where the good lines were and how the track looked by then i was so nervous i can't remember what was happening, we were then called up for heat two and i walked over to my car and got my gear and sat in, the amount of butterflies in my stomach it wasn't funny, i started shacking and sweating even more and it was time to head to the dumby grid i lined up behind my mate who got first grid,  i was now sitting in my seat all belted up tight so if there were a crash i wouldnt get hurt, i'm pulling my belts tighter as i'm sitting there waiting for my car to warm up, shaking my legs up and down wondering what is going to happen

it was time the gate opened and my foot goes slowly onto the clutch and into gear, the person in front of me goes and so i let go of the clutch and turn right out onto the track, we do to warm up laps, i try and find the greatest line in that short amount of time, by then all my nerv's went away and i was just in that zone, we came up in front of the tower and lined up in a row of two we all touch bumpers and start revving, the green flag drops and my foot hits the accelerator faster then ever, i change into second and turn round all the corners at first i went back 10 cars but by the end of the race i made it back up 4 cars and came 6th overall , when i drove back in i seen all my family waving and cheering for me, i knew i made them proud, the sweat and the thrill was going through my body was phenomenal, i went up and watched all the other races, then my next race came up, again i got in my car nervous as all time sitting there waiting to be called up to the dumby grid, here i am again, thinking to myself “this is gonna to be hard” this race i was on grid 16 and had to do some work to get up the front, again heading out onto the track all my fears come to my head and start getting really nervous, then i suddenly went into the zone again and everything disappeared , all i could think of is trying to pass as many cars as i could, we girded up again just in front of the tower , we all touch bumpers and start revving the green flag drops on my foot hits the accelerator as fast as it could , the race went on and the first 2 laps i went back to cars , and then myself and the car set into the track , i started following my mate taylor around because he had the fast line, i started getting this weird feeling something bad was going to happen in the race, 2 christchurch cars and 1 car from blenheim were having a hustle up near the end of the race, i was just about to come out behind taylor and then for some good reason i didn't and took the low line, i was coming into turn one confident and then nek minute there was two cars rolled over in the wall, all i remember is seeing this big black thing go flying past me for a split second, then the red lights came out we all slowly came to a stop to see my mate Jesse facing the wrong way with his car all broken and him getting out of the car, they got the tow truck and picked up the car and put it on the infield, the lights went out and we all started revving again with 2 laps to go, it went green again with my foot hit the accelerator as fast as it could changing into 2nd gear and by the end of the race i passed 4 car,by then my points were quite high, i helped Jesse put his car on the trailer because he was finished for the night, i now here on the radio “can all youth drivers for the next heat get in there cars now you are up after the super saloons” we got moved up earlier because the big feature race was gonna be too short, so i got in my car got my helmet gloves and neck brace on start my car and line up, this race i was on grid 18, i had to really work for what i wanted, the time came, the big race, i was pretty much off the back with only one Christchurch car, we gridded up for the last time, the lights went out we all started to rev , the lights were green i was flying through the pack getting faster and faster one car, two cars, three cars, i lost count so i just kept going, the white flag came out , and i knew that's when i had to go harder, i pushed my limit and got past 2 more cars and the checkered flag came out i went flying past with excitement, i got back in the pits and everyone was there again, i found out that i passed a whole 10 cars in the last race getting me a whole lot of points, the night came along and we were all packing up getting ready to leave, it started to rain so we weren't racing tomorrow,  everyone packed up and headed over to the club rooms for the prize giving for the two support grades, we all got our drinks and food and sat down, the night went on and prize giving finished, we all walked back to the car and said goodnight to everyone and headed back to the hotel, it was now the morning we found out there was no racing the rain was pouring down, we headed back to the track because our prize giving was that night and the rugby game was on as well, we all went into the club rooms again getting want we all want,

everyone in the room sat down and the announcer walked up and started talking and he got to mini stocks , he said “in third place we have …….” “in second place is …….” “ and then in first place is the 11c of jordanlee” my nerves went from normal to intents in 1 second, i walked up shacked two people's hands said thank you grabbed the mic and said “thank you to everyone that helped me get here this weekend, thank you to all my sponsors for everything you've done cheers” everyone clapped and i walked back with my first place ribbon and trophy, by then it was getting late and we had to head back to the bus to get ready and leave, we pulled up at this we stop on the side of the road on the way home it was about 10pm and we got the pagoler out and sat under it and got the chilly bin out with all the drinks and cooked up some food on the BBQ, a really good way to finish off an amazing weekend.

so what im pretty much doing is trying my hardest for what i want and dont give up, you will get there one day !!!!!!

The Outsiders

SEXXXY 1
When darry got mad a ponyboy for coming home late and slapped him

Negative
For example ponyboy got home at around 2:30am , darry and sodapop were really worried so when ponyboy got home darry got angry with him and slapped him across the face
This makes the audience think that darry doesn't really care about him and that he probably hates him
The purpose of this was to change the way of the movie to make everyone think the opposite of what's actually true
This aspect can be compared to when dally found out johnny went inside the burning church
SEXXXY 2
when dally found out johnny went inside the burning church and dally had to try and save him for the burning fire and got severely burnt

Positive
For example they were driving back to get there stuff to hand themselves into the police when they seen the church on fire and there was little school kids there and some were trapped inside so ponyboy and johnny went to save them , as they were just about to get 0ut the building collapsed on j0hnny
This makes the audience feel very em0ti0nal 0ver johnny and feel like it shouldn't have happened
ThQQe purp0se 0f this was t0 make a change in the greasers life t0 put a str0ng grudge against their lifes
This aspect can be compared t0 at the hospital when darry and sodapop seen ponyboy and had a big family hug and darry said to ponyboy he never wants him to run away again
SEXXXY 3
at the hospital when darry and sodapop seen ponyboy and had a big family hug and darry said to ponyboy he never wants him to run away again

postitive
For example when darry and sodapop seen ponyboy sitting on the chair at the hospital ponyboy ran right up to them and gave the a huge hug and they told ponyboy to never ever leave them like that ever again
This makes the audience think that now darry really does love ponyboy and that all darry does is try and look after him
The purpose of this was to make it feel like they're one big happy family again and even if they run away nothing can split them up
This aspect can be compared to when johnny and ponyboy feel asleep outside and didn't get home until around 2:30am
SEXXXY 4

Conclusion:
(Optional)
I think this would be a really good movie for modern day teens to watch and learn off they would learn a lot about real life as gangsta
