PBL Jordanlee

For the rest of the term, my year group has been given a task to have a positive impact on our community. My group consists of four people including myself, Juanita, Jessania and Michaela. The issue we have chosen is about senior citizenship. Websites like https://www.ageconcern.org.nz/ACNZ_Public/Loneliness_and_Social_Isolation_Research.aspx, http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/76229784/One-in-10-elderly-Kiwis-could-be-socially-isolated-Age-Concern-says and https://www.agingcare.com/articles/loneliness-in-the-elderly-151549.htm state that some elderly are left alone with no families and are 'isolated'. We have an idea to fundraise money for them and are still figuring out what we should do with it.

Steps needed to achieve the goal.
What will help us achieve this goal?(Enablers)
Possible barriers and how they could be overcome.

  • Getting food donations or support from local food businesses such as pak'nsave, couplands and countdown
Jordanlee calling or emailing them so that we won’t have to bake and the food is good, and so that we don’t have to fundraise, this is an easier and better option
  • No one wants to donate or sponsor
  • We don’t get food or money to bake

Rest Home Visit 2: The following week on Tuesday, we went back again. This time to give some baking. The previous day, Michaela and Jess went home and baked some chocolate chip muffins, and banana muffins, specifically for the diabetic ones in the rest home. We gave out our muffins and they seemed to enjoy it. We have decided to return one more time, to maybe give a big proformence of kapa haka and give them Christmas cards so they can feel loved during the chrismas time.

Jordanlee's Persuasive essay 10ck

Persuasive essay
The tuckshop should be cheaper, because not every kid can afford to buy there own food when they're hungry, sometimes some families are poor and can't fork out any money for their kids to eat lunches during the day, even if parents work as hard as they can the could not afford to feed their kids.
when your parents were raising you most of the time they would be struggling to feed themselves along with feeding you,
so why not just make the tuckshop food cheaper so people don't starve during class and so they can focus on learning not eating, make learning more fun and enjoyable for them,
and that's why tuckshop food should really be cheaper

if the tuckshop had cheaper food at lunchtimes they would also sell out fast because some people could afford to buy more stuff because it’s cheaps,
that also means that poor people could buy more food for themselves too and could actually eat a good lunch to keep them educated
this would also mean the school would be making more money off the food and again, students will be fall and ready for learning just like the other students.
and that's why if tuckshop food was cheaper people would buy more.
